about three or four years ago my former "best friend" who is an active jw started coming by my work to eat lunch with me and chat.. in the course of our conversations we had religious discussions.. i posted on the former jwd about these discussions.
i never mentioned his last name, but, i did use his first name.. i honestly never expected anybody to read those posts because of the curse on apostate websites.
but, that was a bit naive, i suppose.. here is what has happened.. .
It could all be a misunderstanding. Unless you speak to him directly you can't be absolutely sure.
May I suggest you try to focus on all the great contributions you've made to this site and not worry about one slip-up.

The statement I made about Scientists wasn't even my own. It was from a TV clip of a Professor of Science decades ago, except that he used 50%. I did not mean it to be a serious statement. I thought that was obvious. I made it because I do think someone who is protesting too much 'SOUNDS' as if they have some doubts themselves. Quietly confident is a little more reassuring but they are not so entertaining.
I love science and read and watch as much as I can. I enjoy all the posts on this site, whether extreme view or not, and am fascinated by the debates.

50 years ago Jehovah's Witnesses were preaching that they were the spokespersons for God. 90% of what they taught has now been proved untrue.

when i first left jehovah's witnesses (jw's), i was somewhat amused at the sheer amount of anti jw websites out there.
while websites like freeminds.org and jwfacts.com are great, (non hysterical sites that stress fact and presentation over emotional responses), there are at least 5 times as many other sites that act as if you should treat a jw at your door like you would a spreader of the ebola virus.. i don't disagree with the fact that jw's are somewhat dangerous and usually go for the low hanging fruit.

Does the "God is love" God described in 1 John 4:8 exist? If God is Love, and Love is God, then yes LOVE definitely exists and undeniably is a powerful force.

just wondering if it is okay to practice the law of attraction as per the book "the secret".
if you are committed to jehovah, would the law of attraction simply be something to improve your life but at the same time staying grounded with god.. is this to be avoided by brothers and sisters or is it okay if you do practice it knowing that jehovah did create the laws of the universe.
i can't find anything in any past watchtower or awake articles.
There are various versions of how to use law of attraction ranging from simple formulas to books full of mumbo jumbo. Strip the law of attraction down to its bare bones and what you have is:
"YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW"
Some Christians apply this to DEEDS but law of attraction devotees apply it to THOUGHTS.
Does it work? Don't necessarily need any books or the Bible to show how to do that. Simply change thoughts and see what happens.
